Persuasive Essay: HDM should not have been boycotted

Postby daemon_light » Sun May 25, 2008 6:19 pm

Not that any of you need convincing... but I wrote a persuasive essay for school on this topic. A few people seemed interested in reading it. To read it more easily, it might be a good idea to copy and paste it on Word or whatever and put it in double spaced format.

i like it...I think you're right cos like...so what if it doesn't agree with the church there's a lot of things that do that, so why pick on what turns out to be bestselling blockbusting films and books?

cos most of the time it doesn't work-the pope even blasted the film for being as blasphemous as anything can get, but it made a pretty nice 15 million in Italy.

Very nicely done! Great clarity as well as great persuasive skills.

Not bad at all. You clearly done you're research for this. I learned things from reading it, too. I don't normally do that out of school. :)

/me snuggles the five paragraph essay

It's a bit scattered in places, but you have a strong thesis and some good points.

Out of curiousity, what format was this supposed to be? (I was trying to figure it out from the in-text references and citations.)

i also have an essay on the same topic. it is lengthy, epic, but i feel covers all the bases with persuasive arguments that are backed up with hard facts. i shall paste it here:

Don't be a tard.

great, innit!?
There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious—makes you so sick at heart—that you can't take part. You can't even passively take part. And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all

Wonderful! :D (the original, that is, but yours was very succinct Alex. Very to the point.)

Tho I thought I would tell you WHY Fox news was the way they were, the company is not only run by good ol' George Bush's cousin, but the entire board is conservatives. (while they have the raunchiest shows, go figger. )

I despise them for protesting the most innocent of things, the purple telletubby, Disney, Oprah - if you wanna make the world a better place, try puttin attention on REALLY wrong things in this country, that bring harm and really do need some curtailing, rather than just pickin on what has an opposing opinion than yours. It is just more proof of the rampant hypocrisy in my country, but this thread don't need or deserve my venom on that.....

Anywho, very good. Kudos.
