TMZ has learned that Academy Award nominee Heath Ledger has died in NY. He was found in Soho at 3:35 PM ET, dead in his bed. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they believe it was not a crime. Story developing...

Damn....this is real sad.

My mum called me today while I was out for the sole purpose of telling me this. A co-ballerina texted me about it. CPG's mum also called to tell him, as did another friend's mum (call them, not us). Everyone I've talked to since this afternoon has included his death in their conversation somewhere. And there was non-stop Heath Ledger Death coverage on Fox (bleh) playing at CPG's house tonight.

the winnipeg free press doesn't even mention drugs apart from the sleeping pills :/ i dunno what to make of that*. that was such a shocking headline to me i actually read the article, despite not usually bothering to look at the famous people section he's one of my favourite under-adored actors.

I think they truly honestly believe in a God that Hates and truly think Homosexuality is more evil then anything (Worse then Rape, Turtore and Murder on innocents it seems ). I don't think they're just doing it for the media, I think theytruly believe that when them and us are dead, that they're the ones who'll be in bliss for obeying the Tyrant Author-....I mean, Obeying God and we're the ones who're in hell and suffering, so they want to be to get it out so they can be "I told you so".

Persionally, I've always wanted to get a bunch of CD's from bands like Dimmu Borgir, Gorogoroth, Mayhem, Satrycon and 1349 and send them to WBC. Instead of doing what everyone else is doing, trying to show that God dosn't hate and they're wrong, I simply want to confront them with a different type of Extremism.

These sorts piss me off the most, the ones who somehow single out gay sex as the greatest sexual sin, when it's on a doing your wife up the arse and even masterbation in the Bible. How low do you have to be to plan to go to someone's funeral like that? Besides, the seem to be ignoring the fact that regardless of whether or not it was intentional, he did kill himself which is a much bigger sin (acting as a gay man in a movie isn't even a sin after all). I think they need to reread the Bible before they make false claims about God.

I really hope they don't manage to ruin his funeral.

he's an actor. it's front page-worthy because he's famous, but it's attention-worthy 'cause he was doing pretty well and his acting was improving with every film (that i've seen). it's also sad when young people die.

he got an oscar nomination for his role in brokeback mountain.

*Nicholson was nominated for a Golden Globe, and allegedly just missed the Oscar shortlist. James Dean was nominated posthumously by the Academy for his performance in two pictures: East of Eden and Giant.

Anyway, who is this Heath Ledger, and what is so important about him? I mean, I've heard the name before, I just don't know anything about him.

He is one of hundreds/thousands of late-twenties men who die every day in similar circumstances. Unfortunately their families don't have similar financial support to help endure such tragedy. R.I.P, though.
