Again, another short one but this is slightly darker. This tells the story of Karl a clockwork makers apprentice, the sinister Dr Kalmenius and s mechanical prince.

I've read this too :D

I thought it was very good, especially the little notes down the side like you said. You can almost see the beginnings of HDM in PP's mind..

My 6th grade teacher read this book to the class (This was years ago ^_^) so I've forgotten most of it, but I remember thinking it was strange aheh :-p

it's a fairy tale, of course it has a happy ending. but as you can tell by the illustrations... the cold, dark, setting... it's a little dark. but yah, happy ending.
