Waiting for Godot: A theatre cretin's eyes are opened.

Theater, when it comes to it it is as if i am held in a web of uhhhhhhh.... stuff.
I recentlly saw Becketts Waiting for Godot and was very happy with the result.
Has anyone else seen it, seeing as your all so much more sophisticated than me im guessing you have. But any way just thought i might put something up about it, If it has been done before please dont beat me with some sort of cyber uhhhhhh.....thing

Just got back from Happy Days. I was very surprised to find I enjoyed it even less than Godot. Beckett's dialogue just isn't strong/funny enough to warrant no soundtrack or movement or changes in lighting and set. Great performance from Fiona Shaw nonetheless.

Is it worth starting up a general theatre thread? I think it would be pleasant *nods*.

Oh, what a pity. I was planning on seeing another Beckett play sometime soon. I found Waiting for Godot...interesting. In a nonsensical sort of way, but that's what it was about. There were some parts of it I liked and others that I...wasn't quite so sure about. A more interesting set would also have been appreciated, as I'd have liked something more to look at than two dishevelled guys when I went to see it. But that just seemed the nature of the play. I wanted to see another Beckett to see how it compared. If his style was that of......well, nothing happening...throughout then I can imagine it would get quite bland, but as a one-off I didn't mind...

I don't actually know if repeating a critic is considered embarrassing or not...

When in Moscow, do as the Muscovites do, and go see theater every weekend. So far I have seen The Master and Margarita, Tanya and The White Guard. All were practically flawless. The Master and Margarita was sublime and as deep as the novel (also, it was at the Taganka Theatre, one of the best in Moscow and famed for its avant-garde staging), but I liked Tanya the best because it's a beautiful story.
Oh yes, there was a provocateur in the Taganka Theatre (probably insane) who was eventually taken away by the police. The way the actors improvised around her had to be seen to be believed.
