...let checking out this website be it.

Alexandra Scott is 7 years old and has neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer that can be fatal. She was diagnosed with the disease when she was one and has been in and out of two hospitals since. She set up a lemonade stand to raise money for reasearch into her disease. She has raised over $100,000 dollars for cancer research. This website tells you more about Alex and how you can donate to her cause.

*You may have seen her on the Today show with Matt Lauer and her parents.*

Thanks for reading this. This isn't a joke or anything, just to let you guys know. This is real. People from all over the world have sent her money.

Not to be ignorant or something, why would I donate money to someone I have never heard of, and I have no reason to trust?

In my humble opinion it would make more sense to donate such money to charity organizations who do work in third world countries. I believe those could use the already earned $100,000 much better than that girl.

Other than that, they obviously only target Americans.

And, as I understand it, the money isn't just going to Alex, it's going to help other cancer patients too.

(Dunno whether you were joking or not, Ben, but I don't think you do get any lemonade)

I joined this forum shortly after turning 17, and for several years was liable to be
any combination of angry, self-righteous, naive, uninformed, curt and belligerent.
Luckily this teenage attitude is only occasionally evident in my posts - but where
it is, I apologise, and ask you to read them with the understanding that I am no
longer quite so consumed by any of those characteristics.
