Any thoughts on Dr Who? Especially the new series. As a first time Dr Who viewer, I rather like it.

Where is Who, and does the fact it's called the "Democratic Republic" bode well for it's democratic leanings?

Haven't seen the new series, but hopefully will soon.

I missed the last two episodes on account of having to share the TV with people in the flat again...the first three seem worth holding out for the DVD collection for though, and now Tennant's going to be the Doctor the next series will likely rock even more so. I was dead against him getting the role until I realised I was simply being unfairly biased and not at all objective...so I watched Casanova and then promptly changed my mind. ^^

Dammit I want to be the next Doctor Who!!!

The flatulant aliens were very entertaining, and, alas, I have no idea what The Melancholy Poster should mean by his post of Republicness. Evidently I missed something on one of the ads. THE DALEKS ARE BACK NEXT SATURDAY!!!!!

As someone who saw An Unearthly Child on its first transmission, so do I.

He's a bit unsubtle compared to most before him, and he ain't doing any of the ole nifty martial arts stuff. Some alien form of karate I believe like he uses on the Exilons in Death To The Daleks. Damn that one was good, especially after you've seen loads of other stories with the daleks in.

*nods* pertwee's good old venusian aikido. no matter how brilliant eccleston is, he could never pull it off. you need frilly cuffs to do it justice.

Yeah. Pertwee is joint favourite for me with Tom Baker, though my actual favourite story is probably The Caves Of Androzani Minor.

It used to be Baker...but then I watched a lot of Peter Davidson eps...and he was flipping brilliant...Troughton or Mc.Coy'd be third place. Never saw enough Hartnell or Baker Sr. to really draw judgement there :?

Ooh today's episode was a mixture of great and somewhat disappointing. About time someone got round to pointing out the new doctor's rather callous streak, though...and big props for the Dalek's performance, naturally :D

Aye, 'twas a cracking episode. The only thing I don't like (read: hate) is the horrendous, saccahrine, incidental music. We get that it's a tender moment, there's no need for it.

i didn't enjoy tonights episode as much as the first 4, but it was still good, just not as funny. i think this episode was supposed to be more deep than the others.

The confrontation between the Dalek and our sleazetastic American badguy was great too...my flatmate was ironing at the time and hovering suspiciously in the doorway just in case it all suddenly kicked off xD

So Simon Pegg can kill him in an amusing manner, probably.

I don't know whether I'm more excited about seeing him or Richard Wilson popping up, personally.

Altogether now,

I don't belieeeve it. Bloody Dalek's parked on the yellow lines out the front again.

EXTERMINATE!

I so hope the rumors about the last two episodes featuring an army of Daleks is true.
