Temptation

Okay, this may come out wrong, but honestly, I don't mean it in a bad way.
My friend and I have this discussion going about what really happened in TAS. When Lyra and Will are looking for their daemons, and they start kissing, is that all they do? Or is it a bit more?
I like to give them the benefit of the doubt, but my friend says that they did more than kiss.
Also, is this the Adam and Eve thing that was alluded to throughout the book? I never understood when the temptation thing happened. I think that the whole kissing episode was the temptation, but I'm not sure.

Oh, well I didn't realize that there was curently another discussion about the kissing thing, so just excuse that- but please respond to the Adam and Eve part.

Adam and Eve.. well, this has been discussed at length too- the actual temptation has to involve Mary, since she was dubbed "the serpent" by Dust. It could be the scene where Lyra and Will kiss etc. (also backed up by the whole fruit thing), since that involved mary the most...

my opinion: mary showed them how to express themselves in the form of "love".. (pp's quote on love) and they realized that they weren't just friends, aka, love is temptation, is the fall...

Pullman is funny. Freud would have a field-day with the obvious symbolism, so perfectly placed and suggestive: from rubbing each other's daemon's to eating marzipan, to the whole "fall in the garden" scenario.
And then he is all "none of your business what they do."
