I visited the Botanic Garden in Oxford!

Discuss the concluding book of the trilogy

Postby Haku » Sun Dec 05, 2004 10:51 am

I went this summer in UK and visited Oxford. I just stayed one day there but I had time enough to visit many places of HDM action.
Living and working place of Mary, exeter, the Botanic Garden, the museum (didn't get inside) and so on.
Really nice trip ! This town is wonderful and pretty. I would have like to stay more there.

To jalaba, you say on the blog you don't know where you're first picture is taken. I kniow it, I took the same this summer. That's behind Exeter. The round building is the radcliffe camera and the church is the (*try to find the english name) something like Holy Mary Virgin Chruch (sorry for my pityful english)

thanks for the pictures !

Kinda Sad.... Buuuut....

Postby Giarc1126 » Sat Jan 01, 2005 6:26 pm

Hmmm, I'm a bit tempted to go there, I suppose it could become a place of pilgrimage for HDM fans  Although I expect I'll wait until I need to go to Oxford anyway - I'd also try in vain to locate the rough location of the window Will first went through to Citagazze
Actually, I think I would too, I'm actually looking into going to Oxford University, donno if I ever will, but I think I'd rather live in the UK than USA. Oh, and to find the window, this is all you have to do. Find the constellation Lyra (yes it exists), on the left tip of the lyre (like a harp), trace the first star down to where you'd be looking straight up at it on earth. Do this on Midsummer's Day, at 12:00 GMT +0. And you'll be standing in the window, or where the window had been before it was destroyed, or maybe the hidden location of my TV remote, it's one of those... This is my theory, and no one has been able to prove me wrong.... or right...

How come I have time to spend when I have nothing to do, and things to do when I have no time to spend?

Hope you didn't apply for Chemistry.
And what's wrong with Chemistry? - a bit late, but I can't let it slide

We were told yesterday, the head of department having not been aware of this till a few hours before, that the Chemistry department is closing at my Uni, along with Italian and music, and all the staff being laid off. Englishpeople among you may read about it in the papers; yes, Exeter.

They intend to keep my course, Bio Med Chem, but have no idea how they're going to do it whilst laying off all Chemistry lecturers. At the moment I'm feeling just a little worried.
This is why, methinks.

Different Exeters. The news report was about Exeter University's Chemistry and Music departments closing down (which is in Exeter) but I think Will was applying to Exeter College Oxford where the great PP himself studied and on which Jordan College is based (in location and design)!

The Chemistry department in Oxford is the largest in the western world - just don't ask me where the western world ends!

I feel unclean getting excited about Chemistry  Rest assured I won't be when the exam comes on Friday!
