I actually know someone who made a pilgrimage to go and see it this morning. Poor thing.

I thought you liked to poke animals with sticks?May he finally find the rest he has been seeking for so long
What is it about whales that humans seem to love? It's odd, I have an affinity for them myself. Poor little bugger. I don't get why they waited until it was halfdead to rescue it though. They feared a public backlash at doing nothing no doubt.

You have to give them a chance to get out of the situation themselves, human intervention should only happen if the situation is critical. Marine mammals tend to get stressed out very easily in rescue attempts and often it can do more harm than good to start poking and prodding them to get them back out to sea.I don't get why they waited until it was halfdead to rescue it though.
So speaketh the trained one. (I did a Marine Mammal Medic training course a few years back, was really interesting.)

Guess the Japanese didn't offer to get the whale out either then. I'm also reminded of the whale carcass that exploded down to decomposition gases filling it up when it was being moved through a street in the Far East somewhere.
Why people like whales? They're close relatives to us, and also extremely intelligent as well as badass when one thinks of the true master of the sea: the orca. They eat great whites for lunch and they're mammals.

Obviously, he wanted to see the Queen. Intelligence and sightseeing are not mutually exclusive. I'd suggest taking the tour bus next time to the Thames though.

So, what did they do with the body? I'm not being morbid, I'm wondering because of the exploding whale in Oregon.

And you'd soon dissolve. Swimming humans is one of the few things you won't find in the Thames.
