Sequals from New Line...Nope!

I'll mention it here as well as the other thread...our best chance is to see if the BBC will do the whole thing

They've done similar before but the only issue would be buying the rights back to actually do it. :(

The problem we have got is that people like bob shaye, michael lynne or mark ordesky who were responsible for the money thing for new line aren't working any more for them so now Warner or whoever needs some new executives who overwatch the whole thing.

We have two sides for and against the sequels:

Pro:

- March 08: Deborah Forte wants to continue the series.
- April Bill hunt (editor of the digitlabits.com) says sequels will be made. Warner will make them eventually.
- July 08: Pullman hasn't heard anything but heard people talkin about it
- July 08 week later: Talked to the producers. Script is prepared plans are made to get things going
- imdb puts subtle knife on "pre-production" without any clear reason.
- Hosseini who was hired as writer in January 07 still is cedited as that in an article of the hollywoodreporter in December 08

Cons:

- October 08 Dakota and Eva Green both didn't heard anything and doubt sequels.
- US DVD Sales are good in comparison to the US Boxoffice but not as good as maybe hoped. - Just a little more than 2 million until now. In the DVD Charts of 2008 just place 31.
- October 08: Without any source imdb claims that sequels were put on hold
- October 08: As reaction of that Pullman now doubts soon sequels in interviews
- in general: the long time since the release of the compass.
