Cake and Fondant/Gum Paste Flowers

Postby intotheworld » Sun Jan 25, 2009 6:46 am

I've been taking cake decorating classes for the past 16 weeks.
For now I have some fondant and gum paste flowers to share pictures of.

I accidentally broke my best gum paste flower as I was going to take pictures of them.

The flower in the photo above isn't finished drying and that is why is still has a support in the picture.

I love the second one, it looks fantastic, and it is edible? Not that you would want to damage it, it looks almost ornamental.

Every part of the flower is edible with the exception of the stamens.

They look scrumptious and beautiful, like the best kinds of food. :)

Here's my cake.

I made my own fondant and it didn't turn out as well as I hoped it would.

Ooh, Kitty, that's gorgeous! That looks like it's a lot of fun. I really couldn't eat one though. It's so purty! Was that cake for fun or for an occasion?

The cake was for my final cake decorating class. :(

I was trying out a fondant recipe and decided I wanted a somewhat spring-like theme.

Very impressive artistic skills.
Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling?

The dairy-free guitar cake disaster!

The cake was broken and I had to fix it.

Oh, Kitty, that turned out awesome! You did a really great job. How was it broken? It certainly doesn't look like anything went wrong.
