Other random news, the gameboy DS came out today in the U.S. If anyone on this forum bought it please post your thoughts on it. I am thinking of buying one.

Edit: HL2 deathmatch is up, here is a copy/paste of how to set one up

This FAQ explains how to create multiplayer servers and begin making maps designed for hl2 multiplayer.

How to create a Half-Life 2 Multiplayer server

To create a server in Half-life 2 is a very simple process. Just follow these simple steps and you'll be fraging in half-life 2 sooner than Lamarr can hump head. It will add you to the master server and it works.

* Step 1 - Navigate to the directory containing Steam.exe
* Step 2 - Then go to SteamApps--YourUserName--half-life2--hl2--cfg
* Step 3 - Create a new text file and name it servermode.cfg
* Step 4 - Open servermode.cfg and add the following lines:

net_start
sv_lan 0
deathmatch 1
maxplayers (whatever you want)

* Step 5 - Save the file and load up Half-life 2
* Step 6 - Open the console and type exec servermode.cfg
* Step 7 - Now in the console type map <mapname of your choice>
* Step 8 - When it loads up open console up and type restart

This Half-Life 2 multiplayer is built in to standard retail HL; go frag someone in DM!

The Minish Cap is 'supposed' to be short and a pale imitation of the traditional Zelda fare just as we saw with The Wind Waker. Perhaps Shigsy was just trying to be ironic given the 'short' nature of the game. I am choosing to believe this in the vain hope I may still be able to cling to my bittersweet memories of yesteryear for a while longer. Mind you when I get back home from uni I'll be kicking arse and taking names in the Earth Temple on WW as usual. I guess I'm just a big fat hypocrite after all :D
Andrew Marr is one of many public figures somewhat bizarrely alleged by conspiracy theorist David Icke to be a shape-shifting reptilian.

Hmmm..I heard capcom made the Minish Cap. Note the fact that I heard this. Windwaker was a fabulous game.

Edit: There is a new trailer out for Final Fantasy 12. Check it out,

Capcom have made all the recent 2D Zelda games; Oracle/Seasons. Considering the teeny length from annoucement (E3 I think) to ship, I wouldn't be surpirised if it was a little short.

If you are willing to make your own map. Valve will have the main deathmatch maps up over the next few months hopefully.

Edit: Half-life 2 has caused some people to have motion sickness. I wonder why this is. I think people can't handle the goodness.

Other random news, I rented out the new getaway game yesterday thinking "I enjoyed the driving bits in the last game thay couldn't have messed that up". They messed it up big-time and the 3rd person action is even harder to control than before. The controls of both are too sensitive and jerky. Presentation, music, voice acting and graphics are all great but that is nothing without half-decent core gameplay. Avoid this at all costs.

I've heard it's the smoothness of the walking motion...haven't had any problems myself though.

I really envy you if you havn't completed it yet. I'm on my second play through and noticing some key plot elements that I missed the first time.

It took me 19/20 hours to complete on hard mode. I still don't understand why people say it's too short. Most story based non rpg games are shorter than this. Nearly every FPS there is is shorter than this, except for HL 1 which spoilt itself with those alien levels.

I think so, most F.P.S fans will tell you it's crap compared to the rest of the game. Me included.

I liked it. Certainly didn't "spoil" the rest.

I haven't played HL2 since saturday.. I have a problem with Half-Life games that makes them a little less playable (I insist on never losing any health or shield and using a minimum of ammunition - irrational neurosis).

To Psy - d'you mean FFXII? I've got FFXI, don't recommend it at all, I cancelled my subscription after the free month.
